Patty Sargent, Listing Specialist

Meet Patty!

Patty's extensive knowledge of the Northern Virginia area comes from having lived in some of the most vibrant neighborhoods in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, including Silver Spring and Rockville in Maryland, Capitol Hill in D.C., and Alexandria, Arlington, and Loudoun County, Virginia. She understands that real estate is about lifestyle, and she enjoys helping sellers and buyers discover their perfect neighborhoods with intangible features that make communities feel like home.

Patty is known for her friendly, high-energy approach, and clients choose to work with her because of her reputation for reliability, determination, and market knowledge. She is also an experienced negotiator and advocate who customizes the home search or listing experience for each client.

She comes by the skill of connecting people honestly; she counseled marketing and public relations clients on how to connect to target audiences for more than 20 years. She is an expert project manager and strategic counselor with specialties in community relations, social media, and digital storytelling. After working in the real estate industry as a marketing advisor, she decided to transition to sales and use her executive communications skills to her clients' advantage!

Patty was born in Hampton, VA, but spent her formative years in East Tennessee. After graduating with a B.S. in Communications from the University of Tennessee, she moved back to Northern Virginia. She now lives in Leesburg, her home base for enjoying community activities and volunteering for non-profit groups all over NoVa.

My Home Story

My bio is important, but so is my home story! Growing up, I spent weekends on my grandparents’ farm in southwest Virginia. My parents and I would drive nearly an hour through the rolling hills from East Tennessee to get there. I would jump out of the car and decide who (or what) to visit first – the cows, rabbits, pigs, or goats? Or would I wander through the fields and orchards to pick something (apples, strawberries, grapes, potatoes, corn, tomatoes, chestnuts)? – depending on the season, the land felt like an endless smorgasbord to me. After each visit, we'd drive back to our small town (a "city" to me) to a completely different lifestyle. I didn’t fully understand back then how much I was shaped by the experience of having "two lives," but I remain eternally grateful for it. Since then I have lived in every conceivable situation, from a tiny urban apartment to a luxury home on multiple acres. And the one huge lesson I keep with me to this day is how critical our connection is to the concept of home. In every stage of life, it shapes us and becomes a part of who we are. Wherever you grew up, or wherever you ‘hang your hat’ today (by choice or assignment), your location is part of your story – uniquely you and uniquely important.

My background, skills, experiences, and personality distinctively qualify me to help clients – from start to finish – add the next chapter to their home story. I look forward to working with you!
